In this 3 hour workshop, you’ll dive into the theology of ageing to investigate:

  • What the bible say about ageing.
  • Whether ageing is good and natural, bad and the result of sin, or something else.
  • How we, as Christians, should approach ageing.

Whether you’re a pastor, a mental health specialist, or simply interested in ageing, this workshop will challenge and grow your perspective on ageing.

Across 3 hours, David Hooker covers the biological reasons behind ageing, the theological reasons, and provide clarity on how you can understand ageing through a biblical lens, and grow in your theological understanding of an area that does not receive much attention.

Who is David Hooker?

David Hooker has a master’s degree in science (molecular virology), a master’s degree in divinity (biblical studies and theology) and, most recently, a PhD in theology on the theme of human ageing. He is currently Publications Director at ISCAST (iscast.org) and teaches in Monash University’s Bachelor of Biomedical Science degree, Melbourne, Australia.

He has authored publications and patents in molecular biology, virology, and theology, and has pastored an evangelical cross-cultural church in Melbourne, Australia. He is currently and keenly expanding a research programme on a synthesis of the theology and science of human ageing.
